About Las Vegas Wetlands & Nature Preserve
Generally, wetlands are lands that are predominantly saturated with water to the extent that they sufficiently support vegetation typically adapted to saturated soil conditions. Â A nature reserve is an area of land that is protected and managed in order to preserve a particular habitat. Â And that’s what you’ll experience at Las Vegas’ wetlands and nature preserve. Â That’s if you can find it.
Possibly the most unique aspect about this particular land set aside is that it’s located on the edge of a bustling city, yet you wouldn’t know it once you hit the cemented trail.
The walk around Las Vegas Wetlands and Nature Preserve trail is just under 2 miles. I’ve taken this stroll midday summer several times and enjoy the solitude. Seems I’m the only one willing to sweat it round. Course I do this mid-week as well. Not sure how busy it is on the weekends.
If you come up with a couple of extra hours while in Las Vegas, head east on Tropicana until it ends. The wetlands and nature preserve is right in front of you. Â Here’s a Map
